Careers
Employment at Avellum Partners is both interesting and challenging for professionals. Usually we are retained to work on high-profile transactions, which involve leading Ukrainian companies and sophisticated foreign investors, who require top-quality advice and set fast pace of work. Our projects often involve foreign law and co-operation with top international law firms.
We, therefore, welcome applications from candidates, who have excellent academic background, fluency in English, Ukrainian and Russian languages, judgment and creative thinking. Given the nature of our practice, our associates must be fit to work as transactional lawyers, which requires fast thinking, willingness and ability to learn quickly, and stamina to work hard. In order to grow in our Firm, you will also need enthusiasm, commitment and a good sense of humor. The working environment in our Firm is non-competitive and our lawyers are willing to support each other and share expertise. Thus, it is paramount that you are able to get on well with your colleagues.
As a rule, we grow professionals and future partners within our Firm and teach them to work according to our professional and ethical standards. Thus, we generally avoid lateral hiring of attorneys with more than one year of professional experience after completion of law studies. On the other hand, we encourage students in their last year of law studies to submit their applications if you feel that your skills and abilities meet the above standards.
Our attorneys have equal chances to become partners of the Firm, as long as they possess strong mental ability, good personal skills, judgment, and character. We will not make a job offer, unless we view the applicant as our partner in the future.
We normally hire new associates in April-May of each calendar year. If you are interested in a professional position with Avellum Partners and feel that your skills match our above requirements, we welcome you to submit your application at info@avellum.com. We will consider your application and invite you for an interview with one or two partners of the Firm, if we establish that your application meets our requirements. Our job-interviews are fully confidential and you will be given a chance to perform in the best way you can. We also encourage you to ask any questions you may have during the job interview. There is no testing or other mandatory procedure the applicant has to undergo. The hiring is absolutely discretionary and up to the opinion of the partners of the Firm. You will be required to pass a standard 3-months probation period before we offer you permanent employment with Avellum Partners.
